Family Violence Awareness Training

Family violence affects people from all backgrounds, but women and girls are especially at risk because of gender inequality. To address violence against women, everyone must play a part, including community organisations. These organisations are often the first place where people experiencing family violence go for help, so it’s important that staff members feel confident in how to provide support.

When staff don’t have the knowledge or tools, they might feel stressed, burnt out, or unsure of how to help, which can increase the risk for everyone. That’s why it’s important for staff to be trained in how to recognise and respond to family violence.

PICK offers training to help community organisations understand their role and give staff the confidence they need to support people who may be experiencing family violence. The training covers: - Raising awareness of family violence and its impact - Building staff members’ confidence in recognising and responding to family violence
